[Page 1] Castledamph 27/4/04 Dear Bro Just a line or two to let you know how I am getting along I was not doing to [too?] much today so I thought I would write a line I have not much news to let you know about however I'll fill it up now [Page 2] I was up seeing Bella Maggie Duncan Sunday last she is ailing with Consumption If you seen [sic] her you would not know her she is that thin Lizzie is going away this week that will set soar [sore?] on her Uncle has got the whittle [sore?] in his finger the pain is very severe Sarah's death was a great shock to them I was out at the grave yard & saw where she was buried [Page 3] Jammie Gordon & wife & Mary Jane & Husband were all in Eden Back Sunday last this is the first visit since they were married John is getting sincerely Perplexed with Matrimonial difficulties as to who he gets or whether he get [sic] one at all or not he say [sic] theres no body [nobody?] for him Tomy [Tommy?] Hay is getting six months leave from Sept he is coming to Ireland at that time that will be good for him [Page 4] I am still running about yet this country is to [too?] poor to keep a man working steady I think I will try Belfast next spring if all is well its a good place for work & a good city every way We had a letter form [from?] Mary a few days ago she says she is coming home about August & that you are coming to New York with her I must close now Good bey [Goodbye?] Your Bro [Brother?] J.
