Dear James,
Once more I again
write to let you know that
we are all in good health as this
leaves [sic] at present - we received
your letter last week we were
looking out for it we are glad
to hear of you all being in good
helth [health?] - we have joined the
harvest on Monday 31st Augt. we are
cutting none today it is a very wet
time turff [turf?] is not all gathered
yet with plenty - Still we have the
Shade nearly full - we get the hay
up safe - But the [there?] are [sic]
plenty in the cops [copse?] yet and nearly
rotten and no sighns [signs?] of good
weather

[Page 2]
Our corn is not verry [very?] ripe
yet and I think its as well – we had
a storm of wind about a week
ago and the corn is all Broken
and tosed [tossed?] every way
it will take a long time to cutt [cut?]
it – the machine can hardly Do anything

Elkin Case is going to its hight [height?]
I sent you the paper it will be trayed
[tried?] on the 26 october – it went
to a vote with the magistrates
Laughlin voted for it to finish
There Archibald would not interfere
So the [there?] were two for sending it
on But I tell you Johny [Johnny?] and Sarah –
played it up when the [they?] got the
Book – it will not be for the want of
Swearing if they are not
Sent [Jail?] [sic]

[Page 3]
Dear James I had awlys [always?]
Thought of writing to your uncle
time after time you can let him
Know that the money is [never?]
Menchioned [Mentioned?] nor I supose
[suppose?] never will The [there?]
are [sic] something new now Sarcel
[Cecil?] Morris Glenrone – is [now?]
[Dead?] 8 years [potter?] ag
Morris is also Dead - in looking
[over?] There [their?] Box – the
We [wee?] [pest?] got an account of
a large Sum wich [which?] [---?]
Should have of barrel. Money 250 –
The two priests went to him – and
afterwards sent him a writ
So if the news is [true?] he got
only a short time to pay the money
its the common talk of every one
So money dows [does?] more harm than
Drink Sometimes Dose [does?] and
[lowers?] a man [sic] name

[Page 4]
