[Stamped] PLUMBRIDGE C MR 23 92 [Page 1] March 23rd 1893 Castledamph My Dear James Once more I take The pleasure of Answering your letter of March 4th wich [which?] we received on 16th we were glad to know that you were well and in good helth [health?] - we were thinking long for one and was wondering what was the cause of the Delay - But when you are well all is wright [right?] - we are all in good helth [health?] and has plenty of work to do - William gilky has a ploughing today one day would do us and one would do Johny Elkin so we will Be ready to sow on Monday we have two or three fine Bags and appears like Seedtime the ground is getting Dray [dry?] and some is crossploughing weating [waiting?] to some one would put on the sheet and commence sowing for the crows [Page 2] William has done nothing But plough The young one is dowing [doing?] very well. But takes good care it was nearly Breaking off one day in the plough - But done know [no?] harm it will never need much of the whip and is [quiet?] all the time But takes good watching I do not know how it will do in the harrow - I sent you a paper that will give you Alex and [Kox?] [Trayel?] Kred got his leg Broken and a good Battering Besides and made nothing of it - how are yous [sic] dowing [doing?] there with regard to homerule [Home Rule?] The [there?] are [sic] a great talk about it here I do not Think it will pass if it passes the [there?] may be a kind of war in Ireland Something is the matter for cattle is Down to nothing - you would get a good cow from £4 10s 0d- to £6 0s 0d at present let uncle know that we are all in good helth [health?] I havent much news to send you this time So I will Bid you good By for the present from your father John J Smyth [John James Smyth?] |
