1891
Dear James
I now take the
opportunity of letting yous [you?]
know that we are all in good helth
[health?] at present hopping [hoping?]
that yous [you?] are all well. Thank
god for his Kindness to us all-
We received your last letter
of July 1st on friday 17 July-
next day after we last wrote
we were expecting one this week But
the [they?] have [sic] come none as
yet. Dear James Sarah of Straughroy
come [sic] down with William and
stayed 2 weeks with us William Bell
[Bella?] and Elisa went up with her
on Saturday they have there [their?]
likness [likeness?] taken But its not
come Down yet Ill post it next week
- as soon as we can Get away
we will. get the others Done
But its not easy getting away
either to Strabane or Omagh
as some of they [the?] young
heifers is ill [hardly able?]
to milk-

We. are. going to wire in glensass
we have all the posts at home
and the most of the wire we will
Be ready to Begin on Monday
we will. Join at the road and
go up round McConnell [sic] land
and McNamee [sic] land then up to
the top Close to the fences. So that
McConnell may close up – and a Great
Many others may sell there [their?]
sheep about £8 10s 0d - I think will
Do this part - Dear James you wanted
to know who were [sic] angry – well Joseph
Gilky Nobles and Ried [Reid?] were
the worst - and others who kept it
closer – I beleive [believe?] J Duncan
got your letter - him and me had some
sharp talk one Day in Strabane about
McConnels [McConnell’s] horse
he took the horse on grass in Eden,
then we got him often on our side
So that Eden is not what you would
expect them to be so the [there?]
are [sic] no commerse [commerce?]
now

Dear James the weather now is
cold and rainey [rainy?] the upland hay
is all safe up - we have the turnips all
Dug up and this Day we are Letting
the plant land, we are Diging [digging?]
the potatoes every Day. I have had my
Dinner of them [7?] times they are good
ones Down in the we [wee?] home [holm?]
Dear James we had the to [sic] two
year olds weathers [wethers?] in the
plum [Plumbridge Fair?]
I got 22s with great Struggling
the same as the others But the
winter one Sold the other-
Moses Ballantine sold 20- at
18s each out of 40 - Noble Sold his
at 14s 6d each and not Bad ones either.
cattle is low in price - our flax
looks well and the potatoes in all
the contery [country?] looks well.—
word has just come in that
Willie Burke [sic] mother
Ann Ballantine is Dead.
The [They?] have been
weating on hir [waiting on her
to die?] this week and more so
the [there?] are [sic] allways
[always?] some a calling [someone
being called?]home and to give
in there [their?] account.

Dear Brother William I do hope
yous [you?] are all getting on well
and that James is learning to farm in
the - Canadian style I hope he will not
Be ill [unable?] to learn as he was smart
at learning anything at home I do not
Know what would make them think
[any long?] – we had to laugh when he
said if he was at home now he would
tray [try?] some of the machines has he
forgot the Big rocks - that he was
Blowing up in spring - William Hay is
going off again Thursday again
John McFarland letterbratt [Letterbrat?]
is [sic] come Back again a very Short
Stay. your friend W Duncan Eden
they have the house nearly at the
squere [square?] it will be a fine
large house all your friends is
[sic] all well. So far as I know
when yous [you?] writes [sic] give
us all the particulars of the

you are all Getting along –
