Dear James
We received your
letter on Tuesday 17th and we
are Glad to here [hear?] that you ar [are]
all in good helth [health?] thank god
we are all in good helth [health] also
as this laves [leaves?] us hopping
[hoping?] the arivel [arrival?] of this
note will find yous [you?] still in
good helth [health?] We had a very nice
time to day [today?] The potatoes we have
a very good crop we have also a
good crop of turnips we have
about the half of them put up -
I have Sold one [Flax?] on Saturday
I left here at 5 oclock on friday
and I was Back at [9 o clock?] on Saturday

we had 46 [st?] -I got 7s per stone
and I got two good Day [days?] going up
and down - Joseph McFarland son
John got married yesterday to
a Daughter of William Steele
Drumlee [Gortin?] he had 4 carrs [cars?]
they came Back by the plumb [Plumb Bridge?]But
hir [her?] carrs [cars?] would not come
the [they?] had
a fine Drive up through [Bainess?] -
you [your?] friend Archy Duncan in Derry
is going to get married to a
Belfast lady I do not know hir [her?]
name, yet we will be able to give
hir [her?] name in the [next?] let Cassie
know that the young ones will
write to her [next?] week
