[Page 1] Castledamph Jan. 26th. 07. Dear Brother:- As I'm writing to John [sic] thought I would write a few lines to you also. Well Liza & I were over to see aunt Matilda one night And I tell you I never thought I had an Aunt could talk so well and pronounces the words better than the majority of people around here. She is not so well today getting weaker all the time I don’t [Page 2] think she will ever get up. She was inquiring about you. Mrs McClelland is very bad not expected to get better. She has been ailing now for six weeks, so she is getting it bad enought [enough?] she is suffering a lot Mrs. Duncan, (Sarah) was also very bad but is improving. Monday morning - John Gordon has just come in to tell us that Mrs McClelland is dead, died last night at 11'oclock and will be buried tomorrow. She told Liza for you to send on the pictures to Archibald & to her granddaughters. Bella and the three children were up from Wednesday until yesterday. [Bertee?] is a fine little fellow now just beginning to talk: Davie is not in very good health again. They have opened a back door now & got in a new floor and is [sic] going to fix up the front. At our last meeting of the [L.O.G?] We had 13 visitors from Newtown Stewart 8 boys & 5 girls. & next Thursday We will have them from Strabane & [Ballindrait?] & Ballylaw [Page 3] We had three new ones last night Mrs Patton, Andy Campbell Bradkeel; & Jim Glass Aughlane [Aghalane?] I think that Bob Warnock & Tillie are for leaving Stewarts & going up above Sperrin, so I don’t know what we will do with the house unless that Wm [William] gets married. Liza says that she & Tommy will go over & stay in it but I don’t know for sure yet. Were you at Dr [Bowie's?] wedding? I see it was a pretty swell one. Archie McCullagh can play pretty well on the violin now and he is at the piano sometimes also Lizzie gave it up thought she couldn [couldn’t?] learn atall [at all?]. Must close now in a hurry Mary [Written up side of Page 3] I think [sic] forgot to tell you that Mrs Houston [Huston?] Waterside is dead & buried & it was an old fashioned wake lots of whiskey & tobacco so you see there are some always to keep it up.
