[Page 1] Castledamph July 27th. 08 Dear Bro:- Just a line [we?] [sic] expeted [expected?] you would be home by today but you have put it off for another while. We see you may go in as a [sic] M P. well it will be alright if you win but if not you will lose some money over it [Page 2] Mother is still keeping well She is almost as smart as ever. She is just going out visiting to Joe Gilkisons this evg. [evening?] so you may know she is pretty well. Well I think the most important news is that Wm. [William?] is going to be married on the 13th Aug. He has been living alone in Landahussey [Landahussy?] since Mother took sick as Liza had to come home So I guess he couldn't do much longer alone. There will be no wedding only Liza & Sandy. They are going off to Bundoran for a few days. The 12th of Aug. will be celebrated in Gortin this year and afterwards the ladies of this lodge are providing a [Page 3] a [sic] lunch for the band they are to arrange about it on Saturday night Aug 1st. John C. [Charles?] is still in Strabane or the Surroundings he hasn't been home this fortnight he was to come Sat but did not turn up. Sarah Duncan hasn't showed up here yet John saw her. Must close now as I'm in a hurry Mary. Transcribed by K. Smith |
