Brien DRS BRIEN & ROGERS PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS ESSEX, ONTARIO OFFICE AND RESIDENCE OPPOSITE TOWN HALL PHONE NO 30 Aug 19/12 Dear Jim We have been looking for a letter from you for some time. Of course we know we do not deserve one until we answer, some of yours: but we enjoyed your descriptions of the old land so much we had nothing to write from here only gossip, hence our delay in writing. We have heard for some time that you were coming over, but no one seemed to know for sure. I am sorry you sent that letter to Brett as everybody knows its contents and you were certainly blue when you wrote it Cheery old boy and always write cheerful letter no matter how you feel. In that letter you intimated that you were not working for the Ont [Ontario?] Govt [government?] now is that true? we can get no information on the matter, Anderson does not know. An official of the Agricultural Dept told a friend of ours that you were an excellent official and doing great work in the old country. Drop us a line on receipt of this and let us know the facts. I hope you are all well at home Give our best respects to your father mother rest of family. Let us know condition of things in Ulster regarding "home rule." we are busy as usual here Mrs [Bruce?] leaves for Bute [Butte?]. Montana next week to visit Pops. Now this is just a word in order to get a long report from you in return & then I promise a good long letter Yours as Ever J.M. Brien |
