I have not got it cashed yet, I don t think I shall use any of it now that is if Jim gives me any. I intend to put it in the bank and keep it till I need it worse. Jim has not given me any yet so that I have quite a bit of the other spent in books Etc. I had a letter from him last week. He was scolding about you people not writing, He says he is going home in the summer I am not quite sure of it. Well I'm sending you some Photos I got two [sittings?] one head and shoulders and the other three quarter length. He has only got three of the three-quarter length finished yet so I will send one of them home. You must tell me of all remarks on it. I dont like it very well as my waist was not quite right pulled down. Tuesday night. Just a few more lines tonight. Cass and the Children came down here Saturday night. Are going to stay till Saturday, Well I'm getting along pretty well here at School. I got promoted to day from 11 Form A. to B. So that I am quite content now. Well, I was to hear the Cold Stream Guards Band last night all the way from England here. They came over to Toronto fair so of course the other Canadian Cities would nt have them go back without visiting them. They had to get permission from the King before they could come. It is supposed to be the best band in the Universe. I tell you it was something grand to hear them nothing like the fife and drum. Jim was togo [to go?] to hear them in Windsor Saturday. I had a letter from Maggie McClelland the other day. They are getting along well up there, Jim put in a little white heather for me, She says Jim is 6ft 10 in so he must be pretty tall. I must quit now and get at my home lessons. Don t forget Box No. So Good Bye [Write Soon?] M. [Mary?] Smyth Box 1103 St Thomas Ont [Ontario?] Transcribed by Elizabeth Prentice |
