I suppose by this time you are attending Model school you had some hard work this last few [Page 2] years & I suppose you have it nearly all over you now so you are alright I am still working here yet & cannot get to anthing [anything?] I wonder how you got away for they are not willing to let any more [anymore?] as they say it is better to all stay at home & work together. You wanted to know how Joe Duncan's leg is I think it is getting better not not much talk about him. Mathews leg is not right better yet, he is able to do no work yet he is [Page 3] herding the cows and he always stays along the road so he has a chat with everyone goin [going?] up & down the road he is always uneasy to hear the news of the country but he goes down to Elkin’s some times so he alway [always?] hears something there We were thinking that you did not see our Photos before you left S [South?] Woodslee I wonder how you will like them some of us are not very pleasant looking but can't change it I think I heard you say some time ago that you never were on Derry walls [Page 4] so I have the advantage of you all the places you have been and all you have seen for I was on them 12th August I saw a good deal that day that I had never seen before Newtownstewart a –train- and many more besides which I will not mention. We got a letter from Tommy Hay last week he had been in Hospital for two months before but was better again he is for leaving India 8th October for Egypt so he will see another kind of people there he said he had wrote to you some time [sometime?] before but had got no answer [Page 5] I suppose I will tell you of what kind of business is going on our men are on the road this while they had George Noble yesterday drawing stones and has Tomy Mc Farlane [Tommy McFarland?] today napping [knapping?–breaking stones] There was very stormy & wet weather this last week but this day looks well some corn out yet John Duncan & Alex has the most out around here.
