Therefore I am doing [&?] [now?] The Bill was presented by gen Estopinal Jan 9th and it has been referred to the Committee on Claims. I hope to see you soon in Washington as I trust I shall be able to leave here next week. Your kindness to me in New York I deeply appreciated, and your [powerful?] help and interest would mean so much to me in the battle that I hope you will find the time to give me all the aid you can. It is said "Bread cast on the waters returns after many days" I pray that God, who watches over the weak and helpless, will reward you in the verification of the old Biblical promise- Believe me Yours gratefully and sincerely Nathalie Bouligny Smyth. |
