Tyrone Ireland Stamped Liverpool May 13 1929 A Postage Stamp Postage Revenue Three Halfpence Castledamph 4th May 1929 Dear James I am going to tell you I am getting along alright, on my voyage I was very sick for a day, but I soon got all right again, But the weather is very rough and wet, I was thinging [thinking?] to my self that if I was on the hills of Castledamph (sic) I wood [would?] not leave them Well James I wood [would?] like you wood [would?] rite [write?] and tell me all the latest nuse [news?], And how is J J and all the rest doing, We left Belfast about 7:30 and changed onto the big steamer about 9 oh clock [o clock?], I met a boy from Gortin and name (sic) is John McCan [McCann?] The first two pages 1 and 2 are wrote on mid-ocean we get three meals each day and very nice meals they are Well James I seen some land on the third Well James I am goind [going?] to tell you that we had to be all [backlated?] [vaccinated?] before we could get landed There were two girls had some disese [disease?] on the boat so I have a very sore arm now at present Tell Tilda and James I am well and happy I am going to change my subject now how did the sheep do that you got in Gortin fair the ones that has no lamb, Well James I will rite [write?] later on send yous [you?] my adress [address?] sorry I have not got It yet.
