Dear Mary Ann
I have had a second
letter from Brother Moses
in which he wishes to send
his kind love to you and to us all
for the past four months nothing
he has eaten remains on his
Stomach - and altho [although?] he has
lived on milk and then broth
and such like - he has grown
much weaker and is now ordered
to leave all business matters alone
he has had three Doctors and I
fear he is in a bad way he
writes chearfully [cheerfully?] and is resigned
to Gods will Still hopes a
change may be for the better
I also had letters from Sarah
and James to day [today?] all are much
concerned about him -
the last letter I had before this
one came from him this day
week - and it was the first since
I saw you - as he or the children
did not wish to alarm us about
him -
[Jenny?] I am thankful to be able
to say is much stronger since
he came down here and is
able to walk again a moderate
distance she has slept better and
eats more we intend going home
in a week or so from this time
all are well in Liverpool in our connections
and family love to Sandy Robert and
yourself from [Jenny?] and myself
I am your affectionate Brother
R. J. Staunton
