Transcript | Robert Moore Esq Churchtown Carndonagh Londonderry Ireland Postmarks - Cherokee City Ark Oct 2 1890 Portadown & Ferry [Oct 19?] 1890 Cherokee City Oct 1st 1890 Dear Mrs Moore I was not aware until Mattie came here a few days ago that you wished me to write to you concerning this [Lagg?] business with which you have had so much troubles. Mattie told me that she had written to you objecting to O'Doherty and my opinion of him is as bad as hers but since she came here she and William and I have talked the matter over and have decided to agree to John's proposal to have you And Mr O'Doherty act in this case We have such unlimited confidence in your sound judement and justices that we think Mr O'Doherty cannot go very far astray with you on the other side. You know all the circumstances of the case and we leave it to your own judgement to do what is right for us, as we have told John we want nothing but justice. It does seem too bad that you have had so much trouble with our affairs. Hoping this will find you all well with kindest regards to all your circles From Your very sincere friend M.J. Stevens P.S. Matties bids me say she would write but William said he would write himself. |
