Mrs Rebecca Clark
I received your letter this day
you want to know if this is

he is the sam [same?] John Fife
if your son comes on here
we will give him all they [the?]
information about the mater [matter?]
that we know of it
there is Neither Mr Fife or me
has got any convenient way
of acconodating [accommodating?] more than our
own familys [families?] but we can
find him accomodition [accommodation?] ellse
wher [elsewhere?] just as cheep [cheap?] say from
five to six dollars per week
I spak [speak?] candid so that you

and Fair can keep that money
for one year after Mathew Brook
if you can place confidence
in Either John Fife or me

we will act fair and square
with you
we will charge you nothing
for our searvises [services?]
it will cost your son a considerable
sum of money to come and stay
here and see it through
Thomas Fair has the name of having
sum [some?] property but as fr [for?] principle
he has got none that is good that
I know of
and my opinion of Clark is not
verry [very?] high because I heard him
say he wood [would?] let as little of the
money go home as he chood [could?]
or none if he chood [could?] help it.
