My Dear Lilly & Tillie
I received your kind letters
and was very glad to hear
from you, I would have
answered sooner, but I
was expecting a letter
every day as Tillie said
my mother was going
to write, Mamie was
pleased with her
handkerchief it was very nice
also mine. I suppose
you all had a jolly
Xmas, I can imagine
what it was like, I was
thinking of the old time
Xmas we used to have
long, long, ago. Mamie
Nelly & I spent a very
quite [quiet?] Xmas Things are
going along as usual
with me, with the
exception of Mamie &
Nelly who has been feeling
very poorly this last
couple of weeks, I
have not seen my Uncle
this past 3 months, but
Mamie & Nelly went up to
see him, I hope Father
& mother are keeping well,
how about my Father
coming out here has he
still the notion? tell
him to drop me a line
it is a good while since
I heard from him, I
hope Minnie & John are
getting along alright also
Little Nelly, I hope Annie,
and Alice are in good
health also the little
strangers give them
my best love, I hope
Sarah is in good health
she never writes, but I
suppose she is kept busy
Tell my Mother I will write
to her as soon as I hear
from her. Dear Lilly [I?]
hope you are getting along alright at school I
suppose this is your last
year. Dear Lilly & Tillie
I thank you very much for writing to me and I
hope you will write to
me oftener in the future
it always delights me to
hear from home. I will always do my best to
answer your letters as
punctual as possible. I
have found out that this
life is just a little too
short to fool with we
are here to day and away
to morrow, I wrote to
Minnie sometime ago
did she ever get it?
I had a very nice
letter from Katie & Ellen
at Xmas. You might
please tell them that
I will write to them
in a few days we have
had no winter here yet
just like Spring, Dear
Lilly & Tillie I have
nothing very strange
to say at present, but
will write you more
fully next time, Nelly
is continually talking
about Ireland, she says
she would like to go fishing
with her Grandpa, she is
very old fashioned, I wrote
to Henry I hope Maggie
& Bobby are well, Mamie &
Nelly join with me in
sending our best love to
