Transcript | 1324 Quarry St [?] 13th & Race Philadelphia January 1901 My Dear Lilly & Tillie I received your kind letters and was very glad to hear from you, I would have answered sooner, but I was expecting a letter every day as Tillie said my mother was going to write, Mamie was pleased with her handkerchief it was very nice also mine. I suppose you all had a jolly Xmas, I can imagine what it was like, I was thinking of the old time Xmas we used to have long, long, ago. Mamie Nelly & I spent a very quite [quiet?] Xmas Things are going along as usual with me, with the exception of Mamie & Nelly who has been feeling very poorly this last couple of weeks, I have not seen my Uncle this past 3 months, but Mamie & Nelly went up to see him, I hope Father & mother are keeping well, how about my Father coming out here has he still the notion? tell him to drop me a line it is a good while since I heard from him, I hope Minnie & John are getting along alright also Little Nelly, I hope Annie, and Alice are in good health also the little strangers give them my best love, I hope Sarah is in good health she never writes, but I suppose she is kept busy Tell my Mother I will write to her as soon as I hear from her. Dear Lilly [I?] hope you are getting along alright at school I suppose this is your last year. Dear Lilly & Tillie I thank you very much for writing to me and I hope you will write to me oftener in the future it always delights me to hear from home. I will always do my best to answer your letters as punctual as possible. I have found out that this life is just a little too short to fool with we are here to day and away to morrow, I wrote to Minnie sometime ago did she ever get it? I had a very nice letter from Katie & Ellen at Xmas. You might please tell them that I will write to them in a few days we have had no winter here yet just like Spring, Dear Lilly & Tillie I have nothing very strange to say at present, but will write you more fully next time, Nelly is continually talking about Ireland, she says she would like to go fishing with her Grandpa, she is very old fashioned, I wrote to Henry I hope Maggie & Bobby are well, Mamie & Nelly join with me in sending our best love to Father & Mother, Sarah xxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx Minnie & John & Nelly, Henry Maggie & Bobby, Annie & Jamey and family, Katie & Johnny & family, Alice & Stephen and family. &c &c &c &c I hope Anne is in good health with best love to Tillie & Lilly xxxxxx xxxxx I remain Tell my mother as Ever your to write aff [affectionate?] Brother good bye Joe I would like very much if you would send me a few photos I have got Alice Ellen, Henry, Katie Sarah. |
