Transcript | Brothers and Sister Sends there [their?] love to you and hopes to have the Happiness of Seeing you soon in the Spring So May god and my Blessing be on you and Conduct your Self [yourself?] as Becomes A young woman in your Situation So no more at present but Remains your loving father till [until?] Death James Toal Dear Nephew I am happy to have pleasure Once more to write to you hoping these few lines will find you and your family in good health I am happy to have the pleasure of letting you know that I Received your kind Letters = you wish to be Informed in Regard to the Baking Bisness [Business?] here it is in great Demand here only it is like adale [a deal?] of other Bisness [Business?] there are too Many at it = Master Bakers Can do Pretty god [good?] Busness [Business?] But Jurney [Journey?] men has [not?] great wages here young men has Sixteen Shillings British a week and there [their?] Board there is Many women in this Country that Bakes their own Bread your Aunt Bakes her own and She gets A twelve pound loaf Baked with the Baker for one penny British Money. we buy our own flower [flour?] by the Barrel we get 196 lb of flower [flour?] for 21s British money. we wish you and all our friends ware [were?] here as this Country Comes To be quite famialiar [familiar?] to us Now we have A geat [great?] Many Acquaintances Calls to See us here. William Dorrian we See frequently and his family and your Cousin James Stood Sponsor for a Child of his About three week Back and the Priest Christened it John me and your Cousin [Catrine?] was at the Christening likewise and the Coach Came to the house for us and took William Dorrian and the gosips [gossips?] and me to the Catholick [Catholic?] Church and Back to the house Again Catholick [Catholic?] Chileren [Children?] has all to be taken to the Catholick [Catholic?] Church to be Chrisned [Christened?] Barnard Craford [Crawford?] and his Mrs we See frequently and his Brother and Sister likewise Hugh Dorrian and Charley Dorrian Came to See us Shortly after They Came here but I did Not See mary Dorrian yet but Cathrine got the little present that her Cousin Calley Sent to her John Coan of portaferry Coms [Comes?] to See us often and John [Girrin?] Also and A greate [great?] Dale [Deal?] of other Acquaintances too tedious to Mention Dear Nephew I wish you and your family ware [were?] all here and all our friends #PAGE 2 as I Prefer this Country for good Employment and good living than there is in Ireland yet I allways [always?] Respect the land of my berth [birth?] More than I Do This Country you will give our love to your Mrs and to Mr and Mrs Rice and we wish to know how Mary An [Ann?] Murry is and how She is Situated.
