Transcript | Mr. Andrew Lowrie Agrey [Argrey?] Bellandrate [Ballindrait?], Strabane County Donegal Ireland Canfield Sept 5th 1889 Dear Uncle, I now take the oppertunity [opportunity?] of sending you these few lines to let you know that we are all well at present hoping to hear from you enjoying the same we have had a verry [very?] dry summer in Canada this summer we have had no rain of any [?] count since June still we have verry [very?] good crops, fall wheat, Spring Wheat & Barley Oats. But Potato and ale root crops about half, crop farmers here are all Buisy [busy?] thrashing verry [very?] few have sowed fall wheat yet they are waiting for rain i received a paper from you last week i will send you three or four next week Potatoes is quiet at Present since Stanley would not [pay?] the Jesuits Bill Sir John A. McDonald will have a hard time to pull through next election i am [going?] to start digging my potatoes they have Been ripe 3 weeks ago it has Been so long dry i think whe- [when?] we get rain it will rain for 3 or 4 days. it gene----- [generally?] does here after a drought. Mother keeps quite smart she is able to be around all the ti-- [time?] and has a good appetite she sends her love to you all Uncle John Lowrie and all the family are well he is here every day some days 3 ti--- [times?] we are only 1/4 mile apart i am going to start for toronto next week we are going to have a grand Exhibition there this year opens sept 9th till 21 inst i wrote to Uncle Rober- [Robert?] [&?] wife and sent her my address But i neve- [never?] received an answer i wrote to Mill town [Milltown?] Col[?] Strabane please tell her i wrote to her But got no answer and tell us in your ne-- [next?] Letter how she is getting along i will now fetch this to a close hoping soon to hear from you all i remain your Affectionate Nephew Jno [John?] Walker Canfield P.O.
