Transcript | San Francisco May 1892 Dear Sister I once more answer yours and as you say tis But few more I will have such opportunity I had a short But very kind letter from Home They Speak of my marraying [marrying?] almost as a Crime I know I should have let them known (sic) Before Hand But if I was in Haste and Broke the fifth Commandment God has surely visited the Sin upon me which is fully deserved But no more of this I suppose as you say every woman has their Share I forgot if I told you how I answered Mr Wood letter (sic) I said not to Come to Cal. [California?] to Better his Condition Because he Could not without Friends or Influence and he spoke of making a home for himself here if he Came I answered By telling him if he was used of his Asylum life to make a Home for himself in the East where he is By Choosing a Good partner I also Assured him if he did Come out of every assistance that it was in my power to render him Now Anna you said I did not tell you for what purpose I wanted that Lone [loan?] I say now I will tell you when you return or if you should Chance to Come out here Ill wait until then But it is unimportant in fact you will say so I also must tell you I hope to return it Before you Go away if not I will Send it after you as I Know you will need lots of Spending Money on your Journey I will hear From you again Before you Go Ah you know not how Sorry I am that I ever Came here how I Could have Gone Home with you and Seen my old Mother too But we Alway [always?] want what we Cannot have The Weather is like Summer it makes me want to Be Free like I used to Be Mr Moore intended to Write But I think his hands will Be too tired I had no letter from Willie nor should I answer it if he did Write to me now We are both well Hoping This will Find you the Same Write Soon Bell |
