Dear Annie
I recieved [received?] your letter
yestrday [yesterday?] and was so glad to hear
from you your letters do me so
much good I am glad to hear all
the news and to know you are
well your advise [advice?] about Mr
Wood is not a bad one But never put
a good Bargain past yourself
There is a Handsome Irish man
here I do so want to Catch and
I think I will do not be afraid
of me throwing myself away
I have a presertiment [presentiment?]
I will die an old maid yet well dont
think I have taken care of my senses
I had a letter from Miss McCrory
she has had the persistance to write
to the Dr and refer him to me to
recommend her I have not heard aught
from him and I have written her a very
plain Common Sense letter which
I hope she will pay attention to
I have not the slightest doubt but
what I could make a Conquest of
Mr Kimball but I do not care to
just yet Miss Rudduck is coming
out in the Spring my Black
Dress has worn well I had so
many compliments with it Costs
so much to have them made up here
more than the material If before she
comes you know aught of her coming
and think you could get me a
Good Black Dress Made I would
send you the money but I will
see before then I had my blue
Flannel made over with some
plaid it is quite pretty Shoes
cost 7 Doll [dollars?] I am
pleased to hear Gusta cant have
everyting her own way So Bellie
was warm about you going with
George she had better cool off
again I answered George letter
I writ [wrote?] to Mr Andrews
after a while tell him I have
not forgotten him Give my love
to Miss Palmer the lady that
keeps the Hotel that I was going
to go with Sends her respects to
you and if you should happen
to come here and not get something
you liked you have the promise of
Home until you should now do not
turn up your nose you say well
when you tell me I would have
been wealthier today had I stayed
East I know just the same there
is nothing in this State [pays?]
like the Asylum you did not
say if they were well at home.
I hope to God they are I wash [Chn?]
this Forenoon I had a slight
Attack of maleria [malaria?] which
I have entirely recovered from is
affected me a Good deal after going
to the Asylum at First I am so Sorry Mrs
Kelly is so poorly See her sometime
for my sake tell her I send her my
best love I expect a letter from
home soon so the Col [Colonel?]
is [married?]
is Mr Andrews no idea of marrying
Miss Smith you have lots of
Changes we See nothing of winter
here yet lots of Grapes and much
melons I must say Good Bye to
night hoping this will Find
you well God be with you
till we meet again is the
Earnest prayer of your Sister.
