My Dear Annie
It is with pleasure I
sit down to write a few lines
in answer to your most welcome
letter which I recieved [received?] Sunday
& glad to know that you are
well hoping that this will
find you enjoying the same
blessing we have very beautiful
weather here now the only trouble
is that the dust is coming too
early they are using the sprinklers
in town on the streets already
so you may guess what kind
of weather we are having. I got
through pruning my other place
last week & we will be through
ploughing on this 40 acres tomorrow.
that is the 1st ploughing
& I am hiring the ploughing done
on the other place it is just
3 miles from this place I rode
back & forth when I was pruning
we quit Batching any more
we rented the house out to a
family & boards with the [family?]
we rent the house for $10.00 & pays
$16.00 for board that leaves our
board at $11.00 cash. I have not
heard from Bella since I wrote
to you before & I wont send the
pictures until I hear from them
as probably they have changed
their adress [address?] I have not heard
anything further from home
since either; you wanted to
know if I had joined in
the tug of war well I belongs
in the Firemens team but after
we had practised about a week
the other teams backed out we
were to pull in the Barton Opera
house on the stage you say you
did not see my name on
the marriage list you are
not likely to until I see how
but if you are bound to go home
if you change your colours
I hope you will let me know
I only wish I could go along
if we would not have a jolly
time. if I can sell out to my
partner to any advantage I will
do it, but I dont much think [torn]
I can make a trade. I have not
heard from Bella in a long
time [now?]. I [wonder?] [how?] [they?]
are getting along. I have got
to write again to see what
is the matter with them well
Annie it is bedtime & the weather
is a little chilly so I must
conclude for the present
hoping to hear from you
soon again is the wish of
Your Affectionate Willy
