| Transcript | Fresno Cal [California?] April 3rd, 1892 My Dear Annie In responce [response?] to yours of last night I take up my pen to write a few lines with pleasure as I have not answered your other letter yet but I am so pushed with work that I have not time to do anything besides my partner has turned out to be very disagreeable I think [th---?] [---?] [---?] [---?] [---?] buy him out & that before another week is past we all have a big rain here now something unusual for this time of the year but that is better than the storms they are having back east. I haven't had a letter from home in two months. I don't know what is the matter with them. I had a paper from my brother Robt [Robert?] in Liverpool on the Duke of Clarences death he never put on his address. I dont see why he did not let me know where he was stopping you talk of me not being able go home now annie I would be as willing to go home as you are but I am placed in a position now were I ever so (sic) willing that I could not comply with it. I have too much money Invested now to rise up & have it in this place besides it would cost me about $50 per month for Labor [besides?] supplies so that would diminish the profits a good deal you want to know w [sae?] new [---?] [---?] I must [---?] you it was [Love?] you want to know whose colours you shall fly now I dont think it is necessary for you to ask me that question just ask yourself whose colours have you been flying for the past year or two & that will solve the question I know this is leap year but if you want me right away you must come out here if you do you wont regret it I can make a living for you without you working out.... |
