Transcript | Pekin, Illinois 10th January 1871 My dear Mary Anne - Lola received your letter of 21st Dec - last Saturday - the 7th and thanks you for the nice Christmas Cards which are quite a novelty here - I send a photograph of my grandmother for Miss Wightman - This is much better than that of my grandfather - The old portrait had got cracked by being rolled up and it has been retouched by a good painter put on card board & framed - When I get the others I shall send to you & Mrs McNeilly - I send an "Every Saturday" with view of the New bridge at St Louis - Yours affectionately John Wightman Mrs Mary Anne Wightman Holywood Ireland |
