Transcript | Kalamazoo Asylum Mich [Michigan?] May th11/92 Miss Annie Weir Dear Dear Sister Annie I have received your long looked for and was glad to hear from you Oh how lonesome I feel these days they have put me on a long Hall and we have 54 Patients and there his [is?] 4 of us boys on the Hall they are strangers to me and I dont think I shall have any use for them this makes my second day on this Hall and I am Just like a fish out of water home sick. Well Anne about my vacation I am not hardly shure [sure?] weather [wether?] I will come or not there his [is?] no dought [doubt?] that I would like to see you. I might have the opportunity I hear that my sister his [is?] going to be married in June and she wants me to be shure [sure?] and come I will tell you his name it his [Fent Beebe?] he is a Brother to the young boy that was an Attendant at the E.M.A. he whent [went?] to Calfornia [California?] Annie Please send me word in your next letter about John getting married you now [know?] that I like to hear the news I now [know?] it was him that was the cause of Lettie Armstrong not speaking to me I am supprised [surprised?] at so many getting married but I need not this his [is?] leap year I thought Mr Duffy and Maggie would of been married before this there his [is?] a grate [great?] many Changes hear [here?] at our Building at the Male Dept we have got a General Superior and he his [is?] just as mean as he can be there his [is?] none of the boys hear [here?] that likes him and it makes thing [things?] very unpleasant hear [here?] for us I had a letter from Mr. Herman that was an Attendant at the E.M.A and he wanted to now [know?] if there was any chance hear [here?] for a Job as an attendant his I sent him (sic?).
