Transcript | th Sept 23 1891 Kalamazoo Asylum mich [Michigan?] Miss Annie Weir Dear Friend I have just received your wellcome [welcome?] letter to day and was glad to hear from you also glad to hear that you are well I have not been felling [feeling?] well for the last to [two?] weeks but am getting all O.K. now we are haveing [having?] just a lovely time we are just harvesting the grapes we go out Cooning them early in the morning about 3.o,clock and you my just (sic) we get our share of them well I have seen Miss Gregory once I walked up to the Building with here [her?] and she his [is?] very nice she dose [does?] not look like here [her?] sister at the E.M.A. [East Michigan Asylum?] she looks like Miss Gaddam. I heard since I wrote to you that she withdrew here [her?] notice I was out with Miss Stewart one eve and she his [is?] a very nice Girl I can remember what your Sister to me (sic) in one of here [her?] letters she said it was like leaving home when she left the E.M.A. I found that to be so you did not say in your letter if you had heard from here [her?] i (sic) would like to know how she his [is?] getting along and what she his [is?] doing there. I think I shall take a trip down to Pontiac in the spring if I have my helth [health?] and am spared we have loost [lost?] 234 hogs they had the Collery [Cholera?] it has been very warm weather hear [here?] for the last 2 weeks we had a man broke out of the grates he took a stone in his room and brore [broke?] out one sash and he got home and took some Poison but he (sic) to [too?] much and they brought him back well Annie I did wonder why [l?] you did not go home you take my advice and fill your Pocket good before you go money will be your Friend when noboddy [nobody?] els [else?] will be I took a nice thing away with me when I left and I have just put Å“95 Dollars to it since I have been hear [here?] of cause [course?] I could spend it all in clothes but that his [is?] no good Please send me Mr Kelly adress [address?] |
