Transcript | Kalamazoo Asylum Mich [Michigan?] Oct 20th. 91. Miss Annie Weir Dear Friend Annie It is with Pleasure that I [answer?] your wellcome [welcome?] letter which I have been looking for for some time well I am very glad that you have met some of our ladies I would like to now [know?] what that message was I never go by a ladie [lady's] looks it his [is?] the Princable [principle?] they are both nice ladies I have only met them 1 [once?] each and I thought I was in splendide [splendid?] Company say Annie there his [is?] one thing that you did not mention in your letter and that his [is?] your Sister now I want to now [know?] how she his [is?] getting along and I send my best regards and best wishes I have never heard from here [her?] yet I was to the fair (sic) at Kalamazoo and it did not amount to a [raw?] of pins it was worse than Pontiac the time you and I was (sic) there the Girls must be having a grate [great?] time making new [massher?] of wonder if that girl of mine has made any new mashes here [her?] name his [is?] Annie Weir yes I dont think I shall stay any longer than spring there his [is?] not much Pleasure hear [here?] We have a new Patient came in to day and he his [is?] fearfull he his [is?] a big man nearly 7 feet we have just got him in the Crib with the muffs on yess [yes?] I can realise what the work his [is?] of course I had some Idea what it was before I came I have to do lots of fighting some times I guess I shall have to come and get up steam to cook them Potatoes I thought Mr [Holser?] would burn his fingers he his [is?] No Good how his [is?] mother [Gaddam?] give my regards to Miss Sadie Ashly.
