Transcript | Dear Matty New York 19 January 1787 I wrote you the 2, 8 & 10th Jns [Jan?] the first by pacquet, the two later by Capt. Gillis of the Brig Brownlow, the Copys [copies?] of them under Mr [Gaults?] Cover goes by this is oppy [opportunity?] Gillis got to Sea. The 11th Jns [Jan?] & I hope will be with you before he reaches you. I now inclose you a bill Lading for one barrel containing Twelve of the Nicest Hams. I will see by the bearer Capt John Hunter of the Ship George who has promised to Deliver this letter himself, youl [you will?] send four of them with my compliments to Mr Isaac, as I dont write him by this conveyance, as Mr Sadler thinks best to take my [Andr?] & the other. I enclose you copys [copies?] of them herewith. I am disapointed [disappointed?] of the money expected, which I think hard as they oblig'd me to pay - [Youl?] & [lexervius?] Waddell empowerd them in the manner he did he will have to look to them on a final Setlement [settlement?] [Clis?] you dont forget the Diaper Shirting [bring?] with Love to Sisters & Self & [Corross?] to all friends &c.
