Transcript | Dear Matty New York 6 June 1787 Above is copy of what I wrote you the 2nd May, I only acted as an agent in the sale of the vessel to Jesse Taylor, therefore not lyable [liable?], he still refuses a Settlement, he is Settled in Maryland I am much obliged to the Browns for [Marys?] Attention to you I have not a line from the people in Ireland yet. Mr Sadler is expected here next month when a final end must be put to their affairs as I am as anxious to have them settled as you can wish so as to get from home. I hope to be able to mention the Period soon after his arrival. The Hope arrived the 18th past, & the ladies are much pleased with the Diaper & Sheeting, the Tongues are Excellent. I sent 3 to Mr Wm [William?] Horne & 3 to Mr Apthorpe. I recd [received?] both your letters by the Hope I have recd [received?] Mr Campbells letter & shall write him by the Hope to Dublin who sails soon. The 10th Ulto I recd [received?] yours 27th March. I shant [shall not?] forget Capt [Captain?] Gillis's attention, perhaps you may meet a Vessel coming here to send the Birds by, tell one of the boys in [here?] if he takes care of them I will pay him for it.
