| Transcript | Dear Matty New York 4 June 1788 Since writing you the 7 & [7?] past the 22 I recd [received?] yours 25 March but yours 26 Feby [February?] is now come to land. I have applyd [applied?] to the Postmaster General here but can get no intelligence of it, had not you best inquire about it, as its realy [really?] provoking. It was some inward complaint that affected me & realy [really?] reduced my appetite very low until it broke out in the [Piles?]. I have thank God recoverd [recovered?] the former & the later [latter?] seems to be going away. I fret as little as possible not withstanding my Situation. I still wait for the peoples answer your side the water. The Capt if he had Choose [chosen?] no doubt could have let you had the aples [apples?] sooner, there is a great want of Politeness in some People. I hope Mr Isaac got his in good order. I have friends here who will supply [none ?] [here?] I leave it I am glad the Trees proved Agreeable to Mr Ker [Kerr?], I am much obliged to you for the [running?] My Horse Did last Winter & shoud [should?] I stay a little time it will be perhaps necessary for me to buy another, & as I dont wish to part with what Gold & Silver I have by me as it will do best to take with me may probably draw on you for Thirty pounds Sterl [Sterling?] unless I can get some People here to pay more. Templeton & Stewarts Bond alone amounts with Interest to œ778 [Curry?] & the Bond in Maryland to œ325 Sterl Its realy [really?] hard to be kept [out?] of those sums so long money lent There is Three Married Ladies who has been very polite to me & has request me to send for Sixty Yards of Satin at such as the inclosed [enclosed?] pattern some of which Mr Norris sent me last Winter at 3/3 p [per?] yard.
