| Transcript | $$H6 Part of the Margaret Graham Browne Catalogue$$H Troy (Michigan) August 10th 1877 Dear Brother I suppose that You think an [I am?] [dead?] on som thing [something?] grate [great?] has hapned [happened?] me when i never answered your last letter but i had amind [a mind?] to leave Canada at the time. I scent [sent?] the last letter to you so in the spring i went to Saginaw, State of Michigan, so i did not like to wright [write?] till i would see how i liked the place then i must say that this is as fine a country as ever i have been in but however i [think?] a grate deal of [long?] loss for twelve months i have not see [seen?] a man i new [knew?] yet i work one month in a saw mill at [$8?] so i thought that to [too?] small so i left there So then i went about one hundred miles in to the Country i got work on the Detroit and Milwaukee railroad. I worked about four weeks there in a place called Pontiac with in twenty miles of detroit. I lived out with a farmer for four months at $50 dollars so i have that time up now but am going to work another month for him and then i am going to the [lomby?] woods for the winter. I can get there $26 dollars [thats?] the going pay as from $20 to $26 dollars p.m [per month?] So i want you to wright [write] as soon as you get this letter for i will be going a way [away?] and let me now [know] if you ar [are] going home this fall if you would stop to next fall i would be going home so i can get you a job here if you would like it but when you wright [write?] let me know if all the fellows are in [Saugey?] yet on what pay you get there how you will excuse this wrighting [writing].
