Transcript | Dear Matty New York 4 Dec: '88 [1788?] Above is Copy of what I wrote you the 5 Novr [November?]: & the 27th [I?] recd [received?] yours of the [23?] Sept as this vessel for Dublin will probably be with you before the pacquet [packet?]. I cant write you by her this time, I told the Lady what you mentiond [mentioned?], if you had reminded Mr Norris he woud [would?] have sent the Gloves Sheeting. & magazines, I hope youl [you will?] still send them, I only wanted to make you Sensible of [these?] peoples behaviour, & it was a good providence that prevented their geting [getting?] [My?] Effects into their Hands. The Gentn. [gentlemen?] in London mention your remittance &c, you may Depend I shant [shall not?] indorse [endorse?] any more bills for any one The Ladies has paid me 13 Irish for the Cabinet, I hope Mrs Norris is recoverd [recovered?], this goes undercover to him, Isaac Hamilton was here at a troublesome time, I shewd [showed?] him all the Civility I coud [could?] and as he was a worthy Character I hope his Bro'r [brother?] calls to see you as he lives so near, The [Coun.r?] [councillor?] was a great intimate of our Fathers, I cant [can not?] account for his Sisters Conduct unless some [love?] attachmt [attachment?] was not there another Sister, Issac called her Aunt [told?] me she had left our Mother 10 to buy a Ring, Ned [Brice?] is a very good man, McCormick is left this, I saw the Girl some time agoe [ago?] last she will not goe [go?] home, & am afraid wont [will not?] come to much good here, There is no vessel yet up for Belfast, but Mr Sadler tells me he expects one of Jack Montgomerys from Carolina to goe [go?] there, Its surprising how reasonable Provisoions [provisions?] are come to here Beef 2s Mutton 2[p?] Butter 4p Pork in [the?] Store & as great abundance & variety of Irish as I have Seen at any Market which is a great blessing considering the scarcity of money, I shall send you some Seeds of the Spitzenberg Aples [apples?] the Aple [apple?] wont do to Ship, give them to some Nursary [nursery?] [Man?] who will let you have share of them when they Grow, perhaps Mr Isaac woud [would?] fancy a few of them, being with Love to you and Sisters.
