The foregoing is what I wrote you
the 7 Oct & the 16th I recd [received?] yours of
the 23 Aug the July Pacqt [Packet?] was late of
Sailing this one goes direct to [John?] with a
[yarn?] and Soon hear from me by other opportunity
I thank God I am pritty [pretty?] well in health
Mr Baillie is not arrived yet, Taylors
daughter has left the decent people she
lived with & from the acct [account?] they give
of her I fear she is not doing as she ought
the last time I saw her was in the Street
& all the persuasion I coud [could?] make [use?]
[of?] she woud [would?] not agree to goe [go?] home,
I suppose Volunteering begins [subside?] the [they?]
seem to have trouble enough in France & [once?] again
it will not be easily settled. I have got some Brandy
& preserved Peaches to send you & shall have
some other things ready to send by first Vessel
to Belfast shall look for some Good aples [apples?] this
week as they will be worth sending even if plenty with
you being reasonable here I shall please God write
you by next pacqt [packet?] & sooner if an oppy [opportunity?]
offers direct
