Transcript | Dear Matty New York 5 May 1790 Above is what I wrote you the 7 April And am now fav.d [favoured?] with yours of the 26 Jany [January?] & 23 Feby [February?] the later the 27 past. I am glad you got the Hams & that they proved good. Mr Walton thanks you for your attention about his Shirts. Cambrick [Cambric?] is plenty & reasonable here, the Irish [seems?] to cut much in wearing I [thanks?] you my Stock is quite sufficent for some time, the [they?] seem to drive on Trade Briskly with you. I observe what you say about the Election & am glad Capt Durry was arrived, it was best to let the Vessel come up for fear of Accidents & hope they pleased, Mr Albright is obliged to you for Applying to Capt Scott, - I credited you 13 Irish for the first 80 yards of [Tabinet?] you orderd [ordered?], as I [imaged?] you [just?] remitted Mr N [Norris?] that Exact some [sum?] - or he drew on you for it, the [rest?] [fixed?] it him for, I have got several considerable things of the House Settled this Month, & expect the paym.t [payment?] I mention from Templeton & Stewart next week, [but?] the obstruction I meet with in settling affairs makes me very low Spirited as my Chief prospect now is to get to you & the rest of my Relations where I flatter myself I may injoy [enjoy?] a Moderate share of happyness [happiness?] if the Almighty Spares me I expect what I shall get done this Month will inable [enable?] me to fix the time I shall leave this & am &c &c Pacquet Belfast &c Pacquet |
