Ballymena March 20th

1838
My dear Annie
I am greatly in your debt, but find it quite impossible
to pay you off for all your little notes. Today I have to
remain here till five o'clock + so have concluded to write you &
Mary a little note each. I fancy you will like to see the
handwriting though this should be writing in the note. I often
think of you all, though out of sight, you are not out of mind.
I am very anxious lest you + Mary should be carried away by the
triffles [trifles?] + folly of this world, as to forget Your
Souls. O Annie remember there is nothing in this world could make
up for the loss of it
Give our Gracious Saviour Your Whole heart, tell him everything &
ask Him to do with what He pleases - Have no will but His. Love
Him with all your heart, for Who is so loving + kind + good as He
is.
We expect Willim [William?] S. To day he is to remain with
us until tuesday, + then goes to Mr Skilton; on his way back he
means to pay us a longer visit. I am waiting to take him with me
I hear you draw figures very nicely you are something like
me in preferring them to landscapes, not that I would throw any
reflections on landscapes but unfortunately I never could draw
trees - I wish I could paint + had time to work at it
Johnny Noble is in this neighbourhood at present came to
visit his friends before settling in the far West of America. He
is engaged in some lead mining speculation in which by his own
account he is to make a fortune. He is the same talky [sic] little
fellow he always was. I am + Johnny are to meet him at Tullym[an?]
at dinner to day. My time is up, so good bye Ever your affect.
[affectionate?] Brother
William Young.
