| Transcript | To Mr Andrew Lowry Argrey Raphoe Donegal Ireland Clanbrassil Feb 12 1894 My Dear Uncle Andrew I have thought many a time of writing to you but never got started until to day I never could make up my mind to write after my father died but it is with sorrow I write these few lines now to tell you of the death of your Dear sister Ann and my dear good Old aunty Ann Walker you will have heard before you get this Oh uncle it seems just awful to think she is gone one I loved so well but she is happy she was a good Christian woman she had another stroke she took it on wensday [Wednesday?] morning and died on satureday [Saturday?] Feburary [February?] the 3 and buried the 5th just one week ago today well uncle I feel happey [happy?] to say I could go and see my aunty [buried?] I never got to see my poor Old father when he was sick or after he died either I was not very well at the time I could not go but uncle I do think he is happey [happy?] and aunty to [too?] with thine saviour my sister Martha and brother Kirk and famity [family?] was all well at the time aunty was buried Well Uncle Andrew I am your brother Johns youngest child Ann Jane I am now Mrs John Knox Jr. I have been married over 14 years I have 2 little girls one is 4 years old the other one year and ten months and a good husband to [too?] I will close for this time with love to Aunty and Cousin and a good [share?] for yourself. from your loveing [loving?] neice [niece?] Ann Jane Knox Clanbrassil P C Cay Haldimand Canada Ont.[Ontario?] PS I do hope you will answer this soon I will try and write more in the future if nothing happens this leaves us all in very good health I hope you are all enjoying the same great blessing good bye hoping to hear from you soon. |
