Dear
Father and Mother i write these few lines to you letting
you know that i have ar[r?]ived safe in New York, in good health
Thanks be to God for his Loving Kindness & tender mercy to unworthy me, I
thank Him for all that is past And trust Him for all that's to come
Trade being very Low here we intend as soon as Possible to set off for the
state of Ohio, trusting in the same God who has given us a good Passage
Of which I send you the particulars

Tuesday 21t as fine a morning as ever i saw in sight of land
airly [early?] this morning, reached New York at 12 Oclock
went on shore in a boat at about 4 Oclock
Reached Hugh Cooks at about Six Oclock stopped there.
all night we brought our boxes here and has stop[p?]ed
to we went away out of New York we have been
kindly treated by them all Hugh Cook (James Cook)
(William Cook) & his sister Mrs Orr the[y?] are all well
and doing as well as the[y?] sent you word he intend[s?] to send
some money to his wife shortly

I would we glad if you would send me a letter as soon
as possible letting me know if you be all well, and if
Robert would send [me?] word how things stands with
him respecting what [I left?] under his care, I am something
uneasy to know how John is hoping that in whatever
situation of Life or health we be in We may keep in
view our eternal state and be making preperation [preparation?] for our
chang[e?] to that place of eternall [eternal?] hap[p?]iness wher[e?] we
shall meet to part no more
you may think Perhaps that i am rueing the day i left
here but i feel quite to the contrary still trusting
in God who has supported me thus far
I want Henery [Henry?] to get the Gun that is in Alexander Findleys
[Finlay?] that i left there only Paying him his charge
