Transcript | [Connacree?] Dec 17th 1891 Dear Annie I received the book you sent was very much obliged to you Well I suppose you would like to know what I am doing to tell the truth I havent done much of any thing but eat and sleep, We get up so late mornings and have three meals a day that it doesnt leave much time for any thing else. However I have been to see all the new babies in town except one that came to town yesterday at [Ann Le--?] house, And I also have been to see a bride of a few weeks, so you see I have not been altogether idle, The first week I was at home it was fine [over?] head but Oh! the mud you see we dont have flag side walks here, And if you were here you could walk on the grass to your hearts content, if you could find it under the mud, but now it is all frozen up so instead of mud we have humps to walk on. Well how are you all getting along down there I often think of you and wonder if poor Wells has as hard a time as ever using the dishes. And how does Miss Osburn get along with the work. What is the program for Christmas any thing out of the [c----n since?] You must be rather short of help again [Len?] going away is Maud going just the same or will they have her wait, I suppose Hattie is waiting anxiously for her turn. I would have enjoyed my self much better if I had not got so put out in my calculation dont know [now?] as I shall go to [Ronnies?], at all if I do i will only go for a few days. How is Lot getting along with that [pu----ing?] string has she got it drawn up yet. So Liz is Sup [Superintendent?] of Hospital two i thought she would be. Mrs Steel have charge of the 1st Hosp! [Hospital?] I wish I could step in about midnight to night and see what you and Osburn has for supper for I suppose she eats with you doesent [doesn't?] she. I think the baptist church is to have a Christmas tree here. that will be all there will be going on in this little burg Has any of the girls heard from Dell and if so how is she progressing I feel awfully sorry for her for I know it will be trying at times for her I dont know as you can read this I am in somewhat of a hurry as I am going visiting and want to get this ready to take to the office when I go remember me to all the night watches, and the girls on your hall, and in fact all the girls, and boys also, and write soon to your loving friend [Lina?] It seems as if the time was flying fast, it will soon be time for me to go back to work and I dread it wish I had an [another?] week |
