Transcript | Washington January the 10th 1828. Dear Brother and Sister I take this oppirtunity [opportunity?] of letting you know that we are all well at present except mother is in a poor state of health, she is much the way she was when we wrote to you before hopeing [hoping?] these few lines will find you in the same health as when we seen you last Brother Hugh and family is well and Brother Samuel and family is well and Brother James and family is well and they have another young son ten days ago, Brother John is well and is in Pittsburgh Elizabeth and John is here and they send their best respects to Margaret William Birch and family is well Robert Woodburn and family is well and sends their respects to their friends there and they are going to come within about three miles of us James Mountford is well and sends his respects to David McCune [McKeown?] and wife, I send my best respects to uncle and Aunt and to Mr. Mrs Cune [Keown?] and wife and all the rest of my acquaintins [acquaintances?] Abraham Mc Kinney and Anne Brownlee is married, and William Hodgens [Hodgins?] is married to McGeugen, [McGuigan?] Old Mr Knox is Dead and old Mrs Irwin is dead and Levi Wilsons wife is Dead We were expecting you before this time If i had a good chance I would come to see you, Excuse us for not writing as we were expecting you here When we give up expecting you Mother got worse and the Doctor said that it was the rheumatism that had settled in her head and when she got better Elizabeth took sick and has been takeing [taking?] medecine [medicine?] about this four months and now she has got tolerable good health again Write as soon as this comes to hand No more at present but still remains your affectionate Sister Nancy Logan. N.B. Doctor Wishart is married to Martha Wilson Daughter of Esq.
