I have got [an?] Indian to make me 2 leather hunting shirts to place over my shirt. We send up a party tonight to Montreal with arms. The Rebels have taken 3 steamers. Tell my father that I had been surcharged taxes and had written to the [cosuonisp?] ivalls [evil?s] Lincoln's hill is [covered?] if he would pay small [bathe?] and (if it is nottoomuchtrouble) [not too much trouble?] deduct from me consider how very little notice.
