| Transcript | Mrs Hilton Doloughy Dear sister knockanboy april 21st i did not intend writing to you again until [until?] i had heard from you by your own hand but James Crawford sent me word that he was going to see his sons family and that he would call with you with any message i wod [would?] send i did not know that it was necessary for people when the [they?] were maried [married?] to drop all afection [affection?] for their friends if i had i would been the less surprised at your conduct since you crossed the water the situation you left me in and the sickness of my children afterwards made me suppose you would be anxious to hear from me indeed i think you have begun the world in a way that there is no great fear but it will last with you perhaps you may hire a servant girl at may [May?] indeed i think it a little odd that you had not one of some sort but you know best what suits if so i hope you and him will spare a few days to come and see us this place is full of news at present but i am not in a mood for detailing them thus i send his compliments to william and you and hopes you will let us see you both here as soon as the labour is over i add no more but remains your afect [affectionate?] sister Lilly Lyle |
