Transcript | CABLE ADDRESS TELEPHONE "HARMALE, TORONTO" ADELAIDE 1971 W. HAROLD MALE Barrister, Solicitor, Notary Public Federal Building, 85 Richmond St. West TORONTO 2, CANADA May 23rd, 1939. John A. Peel,Esq., Solicitor, English Street, Armagh, N. IRELAND. Re: Joseph Steenson & House no. 27 Gates Avenue, Toronto, Ontario Dear Mr. Peel: I am sorry that I misunderstood your letter to me of December 17, 1936. Some months ago, I had a visit in my office by my friend, Mr. C. L. Dyer, who is head of the Philco Radio & Television Corporation of Great Britain. In course of conversation, I found he had a representative in Northern Ireland and I asked him if such representative could call at your office and ascertain what I should do in order to get back the documents completed, which I mailed to you on May 4, 1936. Mr. Dyer has just sent me his representative's report and it appears that Mr. Steenson insists that the consideration for the documents must be forwarded to you before you may release same. I did not understand that the delay was due to the fact that I had not forwarded the money and I regret indeed that I did not understand from your letter of December 17, 1936, that the forwarding of the money was a condition precedent. I quite appreciate that there is very little compensation for you in the matter, a remark which also applies in respect to my own services on behalf of my client, but of course, that is not your fault. I have purchased a Bank Money Order, paying for same, $30.28 and I enclose such Money Order which is for œ6/6/0. I have had the Money Order made payable to you. Please let me have the documents just as soon as you can and I wish you would check them carefully and see that they have been executed fully in the presence of a witness and that the witness has also signed the Affidavit of Execution on the back of each copy and of course, the witness will have to be sworn before a Notary Public. Possibly, these details have already been completed. I hope also, that you will enclose any other papers you may have relative to the matter. I appreciate that there is very little compensation in this matter for you. As soon as I have received the documents and have been able to register same at the Registry Office here, I will be able to get some further monies from Mr. Kesteven and will then immediately mail to you a further Money Order for $5.00, as some further small compensation to you for your trouble. Yours very truly, W. H. Male W. H. Male. Encl.1. WHM/EP. Word count: 409 |
