Transcript | Chicago, Oct. [October?] 23. 1890 3122 Rhodes Av. [Avenue?], My Dear Aunt; I suppose you received my letter and photo some time ago. We have had plenty of rain this fall but not very cold weather. The freights are low and do not seem to increase, William tied up his boat but Uncle Willie thought he would wait a while longer. James and Janie have another little baby brother He is about two weeks old and they are going to call him Henry Bailey Shanks. Alice and Nell were made happy to-day with their wrappers and handkerchiefs that Kate sent The 21st was Alices birth-day [birthday?]. Aunt Sarah was here visiting at noon She always has something to bother her Mr. J. McVea, Mrs. Kaig and Mrs. Peck were all to see Ma in the morning, they were going to Minnie's. Eliza comes every week, She thinks she does all the knitting. Mrs. Thomas says she comes to return her own call. Bessie Reeder is studying at a school near by and comes most everyday for Lunch.
