Down Ireland Dear Sir I hope you found all your friends In good health when you arrived in Ireland, we see by telegraph that you had a quick passage over. We have had very cold weather...[remainder of page missing] Hugh Glenn was up and all the young ones was at the Baptist Church having a supper there and a general good time of it. I hope you had a pleasant time of it yourself. The baby will soon be able to run around so Bella says Dan McKillop left the sunday after you I see he has arrived by telegraph There is nothing a doing...[remainder of page missing] Paris 9,000 S & Hanson $15,000 I have not went to see anything about buying as yet the ask as much for a vessel that is 4 & 5 years old as what the cost to build [--?] got settled with Loomis our [----?] stand about $14,500 total yours and Sams is a little over 18,000 mine stands about $16,500 but he is hard up...[remainder of page missing] Seventh cleared neat profits this year nigh $7,000 and since I bought her she has netted nigh $19,000 Glad Tidings cleared over $7,000 for all season So she came up [neated?] nigh $8,000 Between the vessels and sailines [sailings?] this season our total incomes has been $18,000...[remainder of page missing] Christmas I will write in a few days Bella is going to write to her Mother in a few days give my kindest regards to your Mother and same to our friends Nicholas Martin Chicago P.S.
