Transcript | [Flint?] March 13th 90 Miss Anna Weir My Dear Friend I received your kind letter the other day was glad to hear from the asylum though it is not very long since I was there, time goes so fast does not seem as if I had been home nearly two weeks I see there have been a good many changes, when are you going on your vacation? this is splendid weather I manage to fill up my time pretty well, though I have few acquaintances outside of our family there is lots to go to and I rest a good deal and read and visit I made and canned a lot of mince meat and bake sometimes It is too bad Dr [Burr?] is sick I suppose Miss Barnes has come back The railroad runs right by our house makes it pleasant We have about as far to go to church as we have from the asylum I suppose they are having splendid meetings in Pontiac I was afraid there would be an eruption on H.N.L. before long expect my time will come some day when I do something stupid I did not think our pictures would be poor I feel quite anxious to see them It took me all the week to make up in my sleep after I got here I never get up till breakfast is ready Oh dear you have to sleep these nice days it seems a pity if you were here we would go down town I do not go very often just for the pleasure of it it is so far. We went to church twice on Sunday there are some very nice churches We heard a splendid sermon at the Presbyterian church in the evening. We started for the Methodist but were late so did not go as it was farther Well I think it is time for me to quit this scribbling Write soon Goodby [Goodbye?] Mary |
