Transcript | Ritter Place, Huntington, West VA [West Viginia?] U.S.A., Sept. 24, 1933. To Whom It May Concern: I am endeavoring [endeavouring ?] to find who my ancestors were, so I am writing at random. In 1925 I was in Ireland and bought a ticket to Dononghmore [Donoughmore ?] from Belfast and found there were several places pronounced the same and I got to the wrong one as my ancestors came from Co. Donegal. My great grandfather was a Wm [William?] who married Nellie or Eleanor Dugan or Duggan and, because she was a Catholic, the family did not approve of the marriage; so the young people ran away to America to Pennsylvania. I should like to know what his father's name was. The mother was Margaret Stinson who came here later. His brothers were Samuel and John. John married Betsy Job and came later. The sisters were Jane who married John Gill; Mary who married - Hogg; and Polly who married Hogg. I am enclosing this to Wm [William?] Richey [Ritchie?] to mail to the keeper of records. I hope you will be kind enough to try to find an [any?] previous records and send to me. I sincerely will thank you. Yours truly, Miss Emma McClintock Word count: 195 |
