Transcript | Huntington, W. Va [West Virginia?] U.S.A. Oct. 10th, 1937. Dear Cousin: Will you direct the inclosed [enclosed?] letter to the office at Raphoe, Co. Donegal, where they may have information concerning ancestors. I have been writing to various place [places?] concerning the Richeys [Ritchie?] but cannot find the present generation. I have been so busy on the McClintock line compiling it with dates of birth, marriages, and death. Have about 200. But there are so many that have not replied. Do you know any that you could send me names of or get with dates? We have had a grand summer and the winter was quite mild up here. While we had a cool one in Florida. I suppose I shall go back to Florida. My sister, Mabel, and her husband C.L. Ritter hope to go to California and Mexico. Their three fine sons all live near and have nice homes; so there is nothing to keep them from enjoying life to the fullest. Our dear friends are passing away so rapidly. Here today. Gone tomorrow. I hope to hear from you soon. I suppose Bertie is teaching and I hope well. I stayed all night with Miss Neal [Neil?] last week. She and some others played bridge here one night. Fall is here and the leaves are turning rapidly. I had a grand four mile walk today. I did not so intend I kept on walking thinking one of the family would over-take me. But they did not. Regards to my cousins. Cordially Emma McClintock P.S. I sent $100 to Frankfort pretending not to know that they should not accept money; but she kept it. Word count: 267 |
