[December 29, 1893?]

Dear Tom
Just a few lines to say I had a letter a few days
ago with an account from H.L. Leeman for a suit 2.7.6
[2 pounds, 7 shillings and sixpence] this an account I
dont [do not?] owe I dont [do not?] want to write to the
Boss till I try and bring to your memory the day I paid
you, I got the suit on the first Thursday in January and
went to Belfast and stoped [stopped?] till Tuesday
following I called in then and paid you "do you remember"
if you want any further information I will try and explain
more accurate I think you will remember by this you were
waiting on some Ladies at the time
I am sure you will be surprised to see were [where?] I am
settled now this is a fine country I have got a good
position here better than I could ever hope to be back at
home for five years although times are pretty bad
I now conclude hoping to hear from you
I remain
Your Old Friend
S [Samuel?] J [James?] McCoy
