Transcript | Addressed to Mr James Mc Lees Brickfield Care of Mr Alexander Dorrans Ballymoney Ireland New York December 12th 1832 Dear Brother It is a long time since I have heard from you - that it appears we have forgot each other - but I fondly hope that these few lines may find you in good health - I feel very much hurt that you have not wrote to me of my Fathers death, nor have I received a letter from you this 15 months you know that such a serious event as that - I would not have hid from you but I now beg of you to write immediatley that I may know all the particulars - I may bless God that we all enjoy good health and have escaped that fatal disease the Cholera which have carried off this summer many thousands in this city - some days the Board of health report was from 300 to 400 but we may be thankful that its savages have eased - and business has been brisk this Fall - you must excuse me for not writting [writing?] more fully - but the man is waiting for these few lines as he hopes to see his friends in Newton L Vady [Newtownlimavady?] you will give my love to all my Uncles & Aunts Cousins and relations - not forgetting my old neighbours - my wife joins me in sending her love to you and believe me with true affections your brother John McLees P.S. be sure to insist of Cousin John Rodgers to write me the first opportunity and give me an account of several things that time does not permit me to mention &c with my sincere love for him J Mc L [John Mc Lees?] Direct to the care of Wm [William?] Abraham Bell & Co.
