Transcript | Extract from a letter from Newry, Nov 18 "On Saturday last arrived in our bay, from Philadelphia, the brig Congress, which left this port in the beginning of May last, mostly laden [laiden?] with passengers and their adventures. - Several who went out in her; and in other vessels about the same time, are come over in her, and bring little particulars - Some of their speculations, but chiefly hard-ware, brought a pleasing profit; hard-ware, its [it's?] said, brought 116 per cent - Linen cloth was not so good an article, some of it sold at first cost, and at best produced but a very moderate profit." |
