TranscriptExtract of a letter from a gentleman who sailed from Cork in a passenger ship
in February last, dated Philadelphia, 5th May, 1795.
"I have the pleasure to inform you of my safe arrival here the 2d inst. after
a passage of 42 days, which would have been very pleasant had not two British
pirates robbed us of our passengers and two seamen, alleging only in
extenuation that they were in want of men for the fleet cruising off this
coast. If my countrymen submit to this glaring insult, they deserve a
continuation of such treatment."
